VIPER Transitions is proud to announce a Strategic Partnership with
Nerds of the North FRC 568

FRC Team 568 is an Alaska-wide robotics team founded in 2001.  Members work to embody the values presented by FIRST: innovation, education, friendly competition, and the development of intellectual and interpersonal skills.

Our strategic partnership gives transitioning veterans, their spouses, and their children the opportunity to mentor and become new members of the team.

Members can attend meetings via zoom regardless of their location and stay connected with the team. As members move outside of Alaska, FRC 568 can help set up or find local Robotics teams in their area.

VIPER Transitions Golf Classic

VIPER Transitions hosted our first golf tournament in the summer of 2021, it was a huge fundraising success for the program allowing us to ensure the continuation of the VIPER Aviation Maintenace Program. This event highlighted four squadrons form Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson giving them the opportunity to showcase the difference they are making with their service. More than 20 different organizations and companies were present to show their support and this event created an opportunity for exiting service members to network with future employers and learn the benefits of our program. We are looking forward to this an annual event.

Outreach

Operation Combat Pike (OCP)

OCP takes veterans on fishing trips to assist the State of Alaska in combating invasive Northern Pike.

VIPER Transitions mentors and the veteran have time, space, and privacy to have candid conversations regarding their future.  Mentors explain the details involved in succeeding in their new career and reinforcing available resources.

Fish to End 22

Fish to End 22 has two main goals.

1. Bring awareness to the public about the veteran suicide epidemic.

2. Taking veterans on fishing charters to discuss career options and allow networking with future employers.

Operating primarily on the East Coast Fish to End 22 ensures that VIPER Transitions has access to an entire nation of veterans and not just those based in Alaska, where this all started.
